WALKING IN PROPHECY?
The proof that you believe what God has said concerning you is that you take steps in that direction. You build with prophecy.
Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:20
One of the very many mistakes people make is not putting the word of God to use, but believing that it stops at just hearing it. Prophecy is the advantage of the supernatural man, but the proof that you believe what you heard is that you take action. If Egypt did not store food ahead of the famine, despite hearing and believing Joseph’s dream, they would be no different from the other nations that did not have the advantage of seeing into the future. Not running with prophecy makes you no different from those not privy to the information that you have by the Spirit.
Let’s look at it this way, when you look at sand, cement, wood, blocks, nails and a blueprint, you can easily picture a house. What can be from those raw materials is a house, but without putting them together, nothing comes forth. When you look at the word of God, you see what can be. You see the possibilities that when engaged, become realities. Prophecy is the edge and the advantage. It is potent and it works, but when left unengaged, it cannot profit. So, God has given you the blueprint of the next five years. He has given you promises in the word, you must now build with those words. You literally have to walk in prophecy. God said it, you believe it, but that’s not enough. You must walk in it.
God has given us prophecies, but if we don’t walk in them, we’ll be no different from the natural man without the advantage of the prophetic, so what we do is that we take the word and we move with it. Despising prophecy is not only refusing to listen to it, despising prophecy is also leaving it and not running with it. The proof that you believe that you’re a fisher of men is that you go after men. The proof that you believe that what God has said concerning you is that you take steps in that direction.
